The University sports club AZS UZ boasts medal winners in Polish, European and World Championships as well as in Olympic and Paralympic Games. The club has also competed in team sports, like volleyball, handball, table tennis and rugby. There are 15 sports sections at the University (including 2 sections for disabled students, i.e. swimming and shooting): swimming and lifesaving, volleyball, capoeira, futsal, horse riding, judo and jujitsu, basketball, unihockey, handball, rugby, table tennis, aerobics and breakdance.
Students can take part in various optional sports and recreation activities in futsal, volleyball, basketball, bodybuilding and fitness. The University boasts a wide range of sports facilities, including an athletics stadium, tennis courts, sports fields, football pitches and sports halls as well as the horse riding centre in Raculka, near Zielona Góra, which enjoys special popularity with students looking for recreation.
