Thanks to the co-financing from the means of the Lubuskie Regional Operational Program, the Science and Technology Park of the University in Zielona Góra in Nowy Kisielin, will start its full operations at the end of 2013.
The goals of the Science and Technology Park are as follows: developing conditions for the use of the scientific and industrial potential of the region, stimulating the development of industry and advanced technologies, supporting undertakings aimed at levelling out the differences between Poland, and in particular the Lubuskie Province, and the European Union.
The tasks of the Park include: bringing together the results of scientific research (and the scientists) and the social and economic practice of the region, developing new technologies or improving the existing ones on the basis of technological work and tests on installations and with the use of the facilities and specialist equipment of the Park, supporting transfer of technology, promoting innovation in its broad sense, supporting the start-up and development of small and medium enterprises specializing in technology.
The Science and Technology Park comprises 5 centers, out of which the Logistic Center of the Science and Technology Park and the Platform for Science and Economy are already operating. The remaining ones are: The Centre for Green Building Policy and Energy, ‘Technology for Human Health’ Innovation Centre along with the incubator of technology, The Centre of IT Technology and Business Incubator.
The Park functions within the framework of a bigger structure i.e. the Park of Industry and Technology of the Lubuskie Province. On 14.05.2010, the company deed of „Lubuski Park „Lubuski Park Przemysłowo - Technologiczny” Spółka z o.o. was signed. The major shareholders include: the city of Zielona Góra, the Office of the Marshall of the Lubuskie Province, the University of Zielona Góra, the district of Zielona Góra and Kostrzyń – Słubice Special Economic Zone. The development area of the Park is part of the special economic zone.
