The Science and Technology Park was established as part of the Lubuskie Regional Operational Program 2007-2013. Since 2014 it has been managed by a UZ-owned company, The Science and Technology Park of the University of Zielona Góra sp. z o.o.
The main objectives of PNT UZ sp. z o.o. are as follows: creating conditions for the effective use of scientific and industrial potential of the region, stimulating industrial development especially in the area of innovation technologies with the use of PNT UZ infrastructure, supporting and creating the process of technology transfer and establishing new small and medium enterprises (SME).
The infrastructure of PNT UZ sp. z o.o. comprises the following Centres: the Logistic Center of the Science and Technology Park and the Platform for Science and Economy, which, among others, offers assistance in starting and developing firms, as well as associating business partners; the Centre for Sustainable Building and Energy, whose laboratories offer to conduct research in the area of heating systems, energy measurements and sound insulation; the 'Technology for Human Health' Innovation Centre, a zone where such disciplines as biophysics, biotechnology and pharmaceutics come together; the IT Centre, where there are laboratories specialized in the design and utilization of industrial technologies, a technology hall with CNC machines used to make prototype parts for machines and devices, and where Siemens-authorized training courses are conducted.
The PNT UZ infrastructure has been adapted to meet the broad range of needs of new-technology firms. It is a special place on the map of Lubusz Voivodeship, one that contributes to the increased innovativeness of the entire region.
